About Certificate Inspector

Certificate Inspector helps developers, IT teams, and site owners review the public TLS configuration presented by an HTTPS service. It reports certificate identity, validity, hostname coverage, trust-path signals, negotiated protocol details, and findings that may warrant remediation.

The tool is an informational diagnostic aid. It does not replace a formal compliance assessment, a certificate authority, a browser, or the service owner’s security policy. Results describe the endpoint observed at scan time and can change as DNS, certificates, and server configuration change.

How it works

Hostname scans are sent to the site’s controlled scanner, which validates the destination, performs a verified TLS handshake on TCP port 443, and returns a summarized result. Uploaded certificate files are parsed in the browser and are not uploaded by the page.
